The taboo of interracial dating is waning in the U. S. , a new Gallup Poll reveals Tuesday. The survey, which is based on responses of 1,116 total adults, reveals that as generations from the 1980s, 90s, and 00s get older. . . the racial tensions from the 1940s, 50s, 60s and early 70s are not carrying over.

Three painters are rescued from a high-rise condominium after they are left dangling. Local media reports fire rescue came to the aid of one man left dangling by his safety harness, and another man was straddling the building's ledge after the scaffolding they were standing on broke. A third man was rescued using a construction bucket.

On Friday, Singapore puts two men behind bars for making racist remarks over the Internet against minority Malays. The city-state's administration has invoked sedition laws inherited from British colonial rule. Twenty-seven-year-old Benjamin Koh has been sentenced to a month in prison, while 25-year-old Nicholas Lim was fined, and jailed for one day.

A contest sponsored by the Service Employees International Union is calling on Americans to share their ideas on how to help the economy grow and create better-paying jobs. The winning idea is worth $100,000 and two runners-up will claim a second prize of $50,000 each. SEIU President Andrew Stern says the country needs new ideas on strengthening the economy and compete in the fast-changing international marketplace - ordinary Americans are the best people to provide those ideas.
