A 76-year-old woman accused of producing and selling heroin from her home has been arrested. Esther Gomez had allegedly been selling black-tar heroin out of her home for years. On Thursday, Gomez was arrested after authorities received information that led to a search warrant. She was charged with possession with intent to deliver and released on a $20,000 bond.

A car crash shuts down the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in Malibu, California, as police struggle to find out what happened. A fire-red Ferrari Enzo wrecked near Decker Road and police are still searching for the driver.

The Gazeta Shqiptare newspaper says that private recovery was more effective than official results. They quoted the case of a Mercedes stolen at gunpoint this month from a parking lot in Tirana. The owner of the parking lot called friends around the country and they began tracking the stolen vehicle. Three cars saw the vehicle and a group of people set up a private roadblock. When the thieves came upon it, they stopped the car and ran.

A runaway ostrich that eluded police caused severe damage after attacking a Mercedes during a three-hour rampage. "Somehow it got out of its pen. We sent two patrols after it, but in the meantime it caused some damage to the bonnet and bumper of a Mercedes before we caught it," a police official in Cyprus said.

Luxury car maker Mercedes loses a case in German court brought by an overweight man who says his heft caused multiple breakdowns in the car. The court ruled that Mercedes must release the insurance salesman from a car lease deal after a dispute over whether he was too heavy to drive the luxury vehicle, Bild newspaper reports Tuesday.
