Authorities identified a Colombian man named Edgar Victoria Abadia, who was trying to board a flight to Cali, Colombia with the cans concealed inside two suitcases.
A pre-flight screening by suspicious inspectors resulted in the opening of the cans - revealing a total of $1,026,443 inside.
The Mexico City airport is reportedly being used by drug traffickers to ship cocaine from Colombia and return drug profits.
