A 24-year old woman died of burn injuries after her husband set her on fire on New Year's Eve in Sarangani province south of the Philippines. Berlin Alit died at the Ospital ng Sarangani before doctors could treat her burns, reported GMANews. TV quoting a radio report by DZRH on Tuesday.

An unidentified robber broke into a house in Forrest City, Arkansas and took off with a bundle of Christmas gifts and other items, but later left a note to the house's owner saying "Sorry, wrong house. "Police says the robber broke into the house of Joyce Williams. The note was left in an apparent moment of guilt by the robber, officers said.

Consumer electronics giant Sony unveiled a prototype hand-powered digital camera called the "Twirl N' Take. " In the same vein as previous hand-powered radios and flashlights, 15 seconds of movement generates enough power to snap a photo. According to reports, the "Twirl N' Take" is shaped like a pizza cutter and includes 3-megapixel mobile phone digital camera technology. Sony doesn't plan to market the device.

A woman has critically wounded the deputy of a Burke county sheriff by shooting him in the neck. The incident which occurred on Wednesday morning followed a 12-hour long standoff outside the woman's mobile house. Eva Joyce Nelson, 60, of Suburban Road off Enola Road was arrested and transported to Broughton Hospital, reports the Hickory Record.

Police officials arrested a woman Sunday for attempted murder after she allegedly fired shots at two men whose dog caused damage to her Christmas decorations. Reports said that 28-year-old Ethel Shannon McKinney opened fire and shot one man in the upper torso and arm, while the other man was also wounded in the arm.
