A driver threw a 5-foot-11-inch former model off a bus because it was so crowed she would have to stand and her height would block his view of the mirror.

Josephine Kime, 23, a TV production worker who lives in Chelsea, said was boarding the No. 9 bus to Kensington High Street in London when the driver told her to get off.

The Metro quotes her as saying, "At first I thought he was joking so I laughed and went to scan my Oyster card, but he said, 'No, get off the bus.' He started getting really angry. The people who had got on before me said, 'Come on, mate, she's not going to lie down,' but he crossed his arms and said he was not going to move.

"He told me he would not be able to see. I have been traveling on London buses for two years and my height has never been a problem, so I was really shocked. To point me out for my height is ridiculous."

Kime added, "The bus was crowded, but as the people inside began to spread out the driver let on a few more people, so I got on with three other passengers.

"It was then that the driver demanded that I disembark immediately because I was too tall. To make matters worse, he let another woman on the bus after me."

Kime said she started modeling at the age of 14 and used to work as a TV presenter in Yorkshire.

"My height has always been a bonus, all my life it has enabled me to do things I couldn't have done if I was short, such as modeling. I feel I should defend the giants of this world," she said.

She lodged a complaint before the Transport for London but was told it would be hard to locate the offending driver.

Kime said, "I thought that was a bad response. Really, it is discrimination. If it had been because of the color of my skin everyone would have gone crazy."

Transport of London confirmed there are no height restrictions for bus passengers.

A spokeswoman for the company said, "We were shocked to learn of Miss Kime's experience and can only apologize for any distress this may have caused. We expect bus drivers to be courteous and helpful at all times and have asked the operator involved to try to identify the driver and take the appropriate action.

"We are grateful to Ms Kime for bringing this to our attention."
