For leaving her garbage bin n an improper place, a young mother has been fined $740 for by the city council.

According to reports, Holly Dutton, 26, had been ordered to pay the fine for putting her garbage container in an alley behind her house in Bolton. She had earlier failed to pay a fix penalty of $205.

After the council ruling, she had been ordered to pay a fine of $267, additional $442 for costs, which are on top of $30 to a fund for crime victims.

"We don't take the decision to prosecute lightly," a member of the Bolton council said.
