A baby girl with two heads was born Tuesday in a hospital in Manila, Philippines. Doctors said Wednesday the newborn was in stable condition but may not likely survive.
A 28-year-old mother delivered the baby by cesarean section at the Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital. The baby was later transferred to the Philippine Heart Center because of a heart defect.
Local reports quoted doctors who delivered the baby as saying that they were surprised to see the two-headed baby because an ultrasound picture of the mom's womb did not clearly show the extra head.
The baby's parents, Salvador and Chanteria Arganda, have five children and have no history of twins in their families.
