A 16-year-old high school student was ejected from a Continental Airlines flight because she was coughing. Rachel Collier's mother, who was eagerly awaiting her daughter's return in Hawaii, was infuriated when she got a call from one of the trip supervisors telling her that Rachel was not allowed to travel from New York because she was coughing. Stephanie Collier, Rachel's mom thought that it was some kind of joke as April Fools Day is round the corner, but was shocked to discover the truth. Rachel, who was returning home to Honolulu after a class trip to Washington, D. C. , and New York boarded the nonstop flight to Hawaii with 40 classmates and two teachers.

The mother of a 13-year-old school boy was videotaped for encouraging her son to fight with another boy. Renee Ann Honnold, who allegedly drove her son to a fight with another boy in Sutter Middle School on Monday, was arrested on Thursday on the basis of a video a student secretly shot. The 37-year-old woman from Folsom, California was arrested on suspicion of two felonies, endangering the life or health of a child and criminal conspiracy, as well as contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor. Police cited her son for suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

St. Joseph resident Lori Felzien had to face one of the most embarrassing situations of her life when her sixth-grade son dialed the number printed on a bookmark he received during a health lesson and it connected to a hardcore sex hotline. The teen handed over the phone to his mother saying, "Mom, listen to this. " Felzien then immediately contacted authorities at Bessie Ellison Elementary School who distributed those HIV/AIDS - awareness bookmarks.

A Vancouver woman admitted on Monday that she taught her two children to fake mental retardation in order to obtain state benefits on their behalf. Rosie Costello, 46, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the government and Social Security fraud. The U. S. District court heard that Costello, 46, collected more than $280,000 in benefits in over 20 years. Costello said she first filed for federal benefits in 1985 when her daughter, Marie, was 4 years old. Thereafter, she filed for her son Peter's benefits in 1987, when he was 8, according to the Washington newspaper The Columbian.
