A group of librarians from Waupaca, Wisconsin are posing nude for a "Desperate Librarians" calendar in an effort to raise money for local libraries. Large library books are strategically placed to cover intimate places. While the models appear naked, they are wearing special cover-ups during the photo shoot.

Officials in Hawkins County, Tennessee are taking action against a collective purchase by their 911 dispatcher staff - a tanning bed currently residing in the central dispatch center. The Hawkins County 911 Board voted Thursday to remove the offending item, which was purchased by the dispatching team with their own money, according to The Associated Press

Mounted atop huge elephants and wielding long mallets, the Chivas Regal Scotland team nabs its second King's Cup Elephant Polo title Sunday, after scoring a golden goal in overtime to beat Thailand's Mullis Capital, 6-5. About 1,500 people watched the fifth annual charity game, which raises money for Thailand's National Elephant Institute in Lampang. The tournament took place near Hua Hin, 80 miles southwest of Bangkok.

The world's strongest beer has been developed by a German brewer. It is so strong, that the brewer suggests consumption by a shot glass rather than a cold mug. The potent drink has an alcohol content of a staggering 25. 4 percent. Bavarian brewer Harald Schneider, who lives in southern Germany where beer is a strong tradition, says his beer fermented for 12 weeks for an alcohol content twice that of the country's strongest known beers.
