Pullman police have seized more than a thousand pairs of women's undergarments from the bedroom of a 24-year-old man. Garth M. Flaherty, who says he has some sort of problem, was arrested Sunday after an employee at an apartment complex got suspicious of his presence in the building's laundry room.
According to the officials, Flaherty stole as many as 1,500 panties and bras from apartment laundry rooms since last summer.
Police made a break in the case when someone recorded Flaherty's license plate number and reported to them. A search of his home revealed "a large number of women's undergarments," said Cmdr. Chris Tennant, according to a report from the Daily Evergreen.com.
"They were spread out throughout the bedroom-closet area," Tennant said, adding that the lingerie stock weighed 93 pounds and the line-up could be worth $2,200.
Flaherty has been booked into the Whitman County Jail and faces 12 felony second-degree burglary charges and one first-degree burglary charge.
