A Californian mom was shocked when the Little Mermaid Shimmering Lights Ariel doll of her daughter said something much more derogatory that the usual phrases, "Your sparkles are so beautiful," "Life is the bubbles" and "You're a wonderful friend."

The mother wrote her allegation in a local newspaper report when the doll of her 3-year-old daughter said, "You're a slut."

Stephanie Herrera heard about it when her daughter was quickly pressing the doll buttons to could skip the phrases and get to the melody. Instead of just moving to the song, Herrera said her daughter got the wrong message.

"I was in absolute shock," said Herrera, "especially after my daughter repeated it."

According to ABC news, the doll's manufacturer, Mattel, however ruled out any such possibility. It also asked Herrera to return the doll, and offered her a voucher for a toy of equal value.

Mattel spokeswoman Sara Rosales told AP, "We don't believe that any of the products out on the market is affected. A lot of times this is something that's very adult directed."

"A child would never hear this, that's not a part of their vocabulary," she added.

Mattel Company has not announced any plans to recall the toy, since the company has only received one complaint.
