Police say a man accused of attacking a teenager after she crashed into his daughter at a ski resort has told authorities he lost control. According to the Associated Press, Randell Berg, 52, of Littleton, punched the 16-year-old girl in the head and neck and yelled profanity-laden insults after the incident Sunday at the Steamboat Ski Area.

Police report that a church secretary set her church ablaze. A spokesman with the Mountain Home Police Department says that Polly A. Warford, 65, confessed to setting multiple fires in the Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church.

A judge ruled Friday to allow officials at Arizona Snowball to use treated wastewater to make snow. The ruling angered Native American tribes, such as The Hopi Tribe, the Navajo Nation and others, who say that the move will taint a mountain that they consider to be sacred. Snowbowl is located in the Coconino National Forest in the San Francisco Peaks, which is federal land. However, the company is owned and operated in the private sector.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has demanded an apology from "Today" critic Gene Shalit, for comments it describes as "defamatory, ignorant and irresponsible. " What set off the group's outrage was Shalit's review of Brokeback Mountain that aired on Thursday. In it, he described Jack (Jake Gyllenhaal) as a "sexual predator" who "tracks Ennis (Heath Ledger) down and coaxes him into sporadic trysts. " GLAAD charged Shalit Friday with promoting 'defamatory anti-gay prejudice to a national audience. '
