An 85-year-old Florida man is the world's oldest hang-glider pilot. Goss picked up hang gliding at 54, and at 85, he is still flying at least once a month at Wallaby Ranch near Orlando. Earlier this year, he earned a spot in the Guinness World Records. The former dentist taught himself to fly by jumping off beach dunes after reading about the sport in Reader's Digest.

Experts in Hawaii are beginning work to identify the remains of a World War II airman found frozen atop a California mountain last week. The airman's remains are being investigated at a laboratory that serves as part of the military's Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command in Hawaii. The lab identifies the remains of lost soldiers.

The voting is over in a contest that was held on the Internet to name a panda born at the National Zoo in Washington, D. C. , the panda was born on July 9 to its mother Mei Xiang. The panda cub's name? Tai Shan. The name should be familiar to fans of the band Rush, having been the title of a song the band wrote in 1987 and appears on their "Hold Your Fire" album.

A Central Florida man is worried about his health after someone laced his soda with urine as part of a vicious prank. The unidentified man is awaiting results of numerous health tests he has since undergone. Publix, who owns the Pix convenience store where the man purchased the drink, admits the soda was tainted.
