Accompanied by his dog, a 44-year-old man has embarked upon a journey that has included ridinghis lawn mower for the last two years. Paul Woods travels by day and sleeps in a tent at night and he plans to reach Virginia from Alaska at the speed of 15 mph. The Herald Journal of Logan quotes him as saying. "You've got to be pretty strange and pretty weird to be driving a tractor mower across country. " Recently he took a break in the parking lot of Beaver Mountain ski resort, 107 miles north of Salt Lake City, near the Idaho border.

A woman who clubbed a mountain lion after it attacked her husband is being credited with saving his life. The couple were hiking in a California park when the lion pounced. Jim and Nell Hamm will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next month. Jim Hamm, 70, suffered a torn scalp, puncture wounds and other injuries from the attack. Nell Hamm, 65, said the lion attacked her husband and grabbed him by the head. She picked up a log and started beating the lion with it until he let go. She then screamed and waved the log at the lion until it ran away.

A South Carolina man was shocked to receive a post card post marked 60 years ago with a one cent stamp. Ned Hethington said the person who went through the trouble to send the post card marked "lost" did not leave a note or anything telling him where it came from.

One American artist has traveled to the top of the world to find inspiration. Jeff Clapp traveled to Nepal to collect the trash left behind by climbers on Mount Everest. Nearly three years later, Clapp has turned his idea into a business - turning discarded oxygen containers into bells, bowls and Christmas ornaments.

Biologists say the man who says he spotted a mountain lion near his home, might have actually seen a large house cat. However, DuWayne Hendrickson does not accept the explanation and sticks to his statement. Hendrickson says he spotted a mountain lion in south of U. S. Highway 2. "I saw it myself for 30 seconds from about 100 feet away. I've been around animals all my life. I'm not an idiot," he added.
