After receiving a call about a possible shooting, police find a parked car in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota Sunday night with what appeared to be brain matter and blood splattered on the front seat, dashboard and windows. No victim, however, was in sight.

They soon began knocking on doors and came upon the car's owner, Lance Hendrickson, who appeared to be unharmed.

Officers soon learned the crime scene had been staged by the 23-year-old and his friends who were filming their horror movie, "Summer School." He backed up his story by allowing officers to watch the scene.

A Hamline University sophomore, Hendrickson says police were understandably grilling him.

He and his friends began shooting their first feature-length film in June. In this scene, a character named Dennis is shot in the head.

"We were happy that it looked real and a little worried that it was freaking out our neighbors," says Hendrickson.
