Fight Club In Silicon Valley Relieves Tech Professionals Of Mundane Lives

The 1998 movie, "Fight Club', based on the book by Chuck Palahniuk, published in 1996, may have seemed far fetched, but it struck a chord with men who say they feel emasculated by the mundaneness of the corporate, high-tech world. ESPN reported that since 1998, a fight club has been meeting once a month in Cornell educated software engineer, Gints Klimani's, garage. Fifteen men, mostly white, middle-aged technology workers meet to beat each other using fists, toilet seats, and cookie sheets. The group improvises weapons, even stabbing each other with dulled knives.

Chilean Mayor Ambushes Latest James Bond Movie Shoot

Authorities arrested the mayor of a small town in Chile after the man disrupted the shoot of the next James Bond film. The mayor, Carlos Lopez of Sierra Gorda, allegedly drove a Jeep into the shoot demanding for filming to halt, as his permission was not asked. His vehicle was followed by about 200 people.

Artwork, Memorabilia By Canada's Notorious Cult Leader-Murderer Up For Auction

S. website. MurderAuction. com, is a novelty site that rounds up and sells personal effects, artworks, paintings, letters, and other knick knacks owned by, or associated with infamous criminals in recent history to a niche market of crime memorabilia collectors.

Boys Stick Tongues To Frozen Flagpole

Trying to duplicate a scene from the movie, "A Christmas Story," two fourth-grade boys ended up with their tongues stuck to a frozen flagpole. According to reports, Gavin Dempsey and James Alexander were on flag duty at Jackson Elementary School Friday morning, when the pair decided to test whether their tongues really would really stick to the freezing metal as what they've seen in the movie.

Loneliness Is More Dangerous Than Smoking

Loneliness is painful and potentially deadly, according to new research at the University of Chicago that found animals, gadgets and spiritual beliefs - not just friends - ease the sense of being alone. "It's actually a greater risk for morbidity or mortality than cigarette smoking is," says Nicholas Epley, Assistant Professor of Behavioral Science at the university's Graduate School of Business and lead author of an article on the subject in the February issue of the journal Psychological Science.
