Authorities detained a British woman for allegedly going against a civil order and playing extremely loud music, causing disturbance within the neighborhood. According to local police, 33-year old Tracey Kirby, mother of three, insisted on playing Madonna songs at full blast, despite the local court sending an anti-social behavior order (Asbo) and retrieving her stereo in response to the complaints of local residents. Neighbors claim that the woman had violated the order a total of 11 times, continuously playing songs from what was apparently her favorite musical artist.

Albert Hofmann, the inventor of the mind-altering drug LSD, died Tuesday at the age of 102. Hofmann was a Swiss chemist who discovered lysergic acid diethylamide-25 by accident in 1938 while studying the medicinal ingredients in plants. One April day in 1938 a bit of LSD seeped onto his finger. That's when he discovered the psychedelic effects of the drug.

A French singer competing in a European music competition has sparked outrage for planning to sing in English in the upcoming Eurovision contest, reports say. Singer Sebastien Tellier, has decided to perform his song "Divine" with almost exclusively English lyrics in the competition, according to Agence France-Presse.

Young children could be encouraged to join in citizenship ceremonies and swear allegiance to the Queen in an effort to rekindle enthusiasm on "Britishness". Former Attorney General Lord Goldsmith is expected to call for a greater role for children in the citizenship ceremonies to encourage them to understand and embrace their nationality.

Saudi Arabia has arrested over 50 men for "flirting" with girls at a Mecca mall. Prosecutors are currently investigating charges that include wearing indecent clothing and playing loud music in order to attract female attention.
