British anti-terrorism detectives escorted a man from a plane after a taxi driver had earlier become suspicious when he started singing along to a track by punk band The Clash. Detectives halted the London-bound flight at Durham Tees Valley Airport in northern England and Harraj Mann, 24, was taken off.

A motorist has dodged a possible drunk driving conviction in Canada because he believed country music star Shania Twain was helping him to drive. Matt Brownlee was driving a pickup truck and speeding down a busy street in downtown Ottawa, when police pulled him over and arrested him.

Music channel VH1 Classic will play Nena's 1984 hit 99 Red Balloons non-stop for an hour after a viewer pledged $35,000 for charity. The channel has been running a charity jukebox to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Viewers could pay per track or by the hour to request their favorite videos. One person has paid for 60 minutes of the song, to be screened in its English and German versions on Sunday.
