A classical flutist who was arrested on disorderly conduct charges in March for playing his flute in an upscale downtown neighborhood has sued the city authorities for violating his civil rights. The charges against Felix Wilkins were dismissed in May when a judge agreed to his claims that he had the right to play music on a city street. Wilkins was arrested March 28 as he was playing his pipe at the corner of a public street and an officer walked up to him and told him to stop playing the flute.

The city beaches in Fort Lauderdale, Florida will soon be equipped with high-tech automated toilets that welcome its users with a polite greeting and also soothe them with light music during the process. The computerized toilets are expected to cost between $250,000 and $350,000 for a single-toilet restroom. The city commissioners voted Tuesday in favor of paying $25,259 to an engineering firm to design the site.

The Chelsea Flower Show played host to several members of the British Royal Family Monday. Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Edward all took a stroll around impressive floral exhibits. One garden designer, Isabelle van Groeningen, said Charles was "particularly interested in the grasses. " While Camilla - wearing a patterned shawl over a two-piece lilac jacket and skirt - was taken with sculptures of flowering grass.

A middle school music teacher has been reassigned to an adult education program by Johnson City school administrators after it was found that he asked nearly two female students to pose for a photograph in a mermaid costume. Les Leonard, who was a music teacher since last 17 years with the school, agreed to get transfer from Johnson City's Indian Trail Middle School to a vacant position in adult education. His new job includes testing coordination and also teaching some adult education.

Prompted by the loud noises, the neighbors of Worshippers of Christ the Warrior King Church in Massillon, Ohio have petitioned the city, saying the church music is taking away their sleep. Not only are the neighbors disturbed by the noises but they also want to find a solution to the noise at night when the members are leaving the church.
