A series of sightings of mysterious aerial lights have people all over Britain peering in the night sky.
The latest incident occurred Sunday over Lincoln, in eastern England, when people reported they saw more than 20 lights flying in formation.
One witness, 54-year-old engineer Paul Slight, was returning home about 10:30 p.m. when he saw the lights and captured several images on his cell phone over a period of several minutes.
"There were 26 of them at first, dodging and darting in between each other like they were playing a game," Slight told The Sun newspaper. "After that, seven more arrived from the right hand side and weaved through the crowd of lights like strange kinds of aircraft. After five minutes of moving around, the flickering yellow objects hung in the air for a second then shot off into the sky and disappeared.
A 40-yea-old woman said the lights seemed to be moving around each other.
A spokesman for a nearby Royal Air Force base said the base was closed that weekend and no military aircraft were flying that evening.
The incident was the latest of several sightings around the United Kingdom in the past two weeks.
About 50 lights, described by The Mirror as "glowing mystery beams," appeared over Merseyside in northwestern region of the country on May 25. More lights were reported two days later over Cambridgeshire.
Similar sightings have been reported in Cornwall and Manchester.
