A Malaysian couple has set a record after they celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary by jumping out of an aircraft at 9,000 feet. The death defying feat was the couple's first ever parachute jump. Cheah Sum Beng, 64, and wife Choo Kit Har, 61, celebrated their wedding anniversary by jumping out of the aircraft. According to reports, the couple went into a 30-second freefall before opening their parachute.

The annual Bulwer-Lytton literary parody prize went to an opening sentence containing a burrito, an angel and a shovel. The winning entry written by a retired mechanical designer Jim Guigli of California, read:"Detective Bart Lasiter was in his office studying the light from his one small window falling on his super burrito when the door swung open to reveal a woman whose body said you've had your last burrito for a while, whose face said angels did exist, and whose eyes said she could make you dig your own grave and lick the shovel clean. " The contest challenges entrants to submit their worst opening sentence of an imaginary novel.

An American minister named Darryl R. Peebles found anoter man named Darryl Peebles after doing an Internet search on his name. The other Darryl Peebles lived in the Australian island state of Tasmania. After the American Peebles contacted the Australian Peebles, the two men discovered they had some uncanny similarities. Through e-mails, the men found they had much more than their names in common: both were born in 1979, both have three children with a child born in 1975 and another in 1977, and both had fathers who came from small towns and worked on lathes of some kind.

In a bout of satire, a Dutch design student set-up a fake online agency proposing advertising space on beer, cars and prostitutes' thighs and cleavage. On Raoul Balai's website www. instoresnow. nl, he also suggested painting brand names on zoo animals and huge billboards floating on beaches to get attention.

Corpus Christi Police say a woman has received a severed human finger accompanied by a threat from her ex-boyfriend in the mail. The letter which was sent by her former lover included a cryptic message saying that was his last opportunity to touch her. Local Police Capt. John Houston said it wasn't clear which of the fingers it was, but it was neatly severed and washed before it was sealed in a mail dated Friday June 23. Threatened by the contents of the mail, the 32-year-old woman was forced to apply for a protective order from her boyfriend.
