Palmira, a 12-year-old male was chosen Sunday as the best and finest Arab thoroughbred. The announcement was made during the 29th annual National Show of Arabian Horses in the popular Janow Ppodlaski stud-farm in southern Poland. Reports said the annual show also attracted 32 mares and two stallions that were put on sale in this year's main auction, "the Pride of Poland. " Some 16 other horses were auctioned off Sunday morning in a silent sale, organizers of the event said.

After learning that they could not name their child 4Real, a New Zealand couple - angry with national regulations regarding newborn's names, is now planning to call their newborn son 'Superman. ' Pat and Sheena Wheaton garnered media attention after their son was born because they could not name him 4Real.

Philippines House Speaker Jose De Venecia has threatened to "name and shame" congressmen who do not attend House sessions. He said he will ask newspapers to publish the names of congressmen who always misses the sessions in a bid to solve the perennial problem of quorum in the House. De Venecia is reported to be pissed with many elected congressmen who are always absent during House sessions.

An Arkansas couple is now the proud parents of 17 children. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar just had their seventh daughter, Jennifer Danielle, and they say they may not be done yet. The Duggars welcomed Jennifer at 10:01 a. m. , Thursday, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. Jennifer will join her siblings at their 7,000-square-foot Tontitown home.

A couple in New Zealand have had their choice of baby name vetoed by authorities after they attempted to name their baby "4real". Pat and Sheena Wheaton were informed by New Zealand's Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages that their choice had been rejected, because numerals were not allowed on birth certificates.
