A chestnut from the tree that diarist Anne Frank hid in to escape the Nazis is being put up for sale on eBay. The idea was that of Charles Kujiper, who lives next door to the immortalized house where Anne Frank hid from Nazi German occupiers. "I had this idea for a few years, and I decided to put the chestnut up for auction," Kukiper said.

The world turned upside down for an Iowa bird shooter when he accidentally became the shooting target of hunting dogs. James Harris, 37, shot a bird at the start of the pheasant season in Iowa on Saturday, but dogs stepped on the gun he left on the ground while trying to retrieve the dead bird and shot pellets into his leg.

A couple in Pittsburgh has put their house up for sale with a full refund guaranteed to the buyer when they die. Bob and Ricki Husick, both in their mid-50s, want to move to their retirement home in Arizona and for that they need to sell their Pittsburgh home first. They have been trying to sell it unsuccessfully for the past year due to the current housing market slump.

A ten-year-old boy has been described as a lingo genius after it was learned he could speak 10 languages aside from his native Hindi. Arpan Sharma, a primary pupil from Oldbury, West Midlands taught himself using CD-Rom, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Swahili, Mandarin, Polish, Thai and the Lugandan language of Uganda.
