Richie Randazzo, the New York City doorman who won $5 million in the state lottery, was fired by his employer despite his insistence that he wanted to keep his job. Randazzo's employer, Brown Harris Stevens, which manages an exclusive Park Avenue apartment building in New York, showed him the door. The company did not provide details in the firing. A spokesman for the union representing the Park Avenue apartment confirmed that Randazzo informed them of his termination. The doorman has elevated his case before the union's grievance center for action. Randazzo was employed for $40,000 a year. Since winning the $5 million lottery jackpot, he has been receiving $65,000 every three months as part of his winning. |
