A New Zealand couple has been told that their newborn son can't be named 4real, a name Pat and Sheena Wheaton picked out after being hit with the reality of the pregnancy after their first ultrasound.

"For most of us, when we try to figure out what our names mean, we have to look it up in a baby's book and ... there's no direct link between the meaning and the name," Pat Wheaton told TV One, according to the Associated Press, "With this name, everyone knows what it means."

Names beginning with numerals are not allowed according to the New Zealand Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

The name hasn't been completely rejected. Every unusual name undergoes a case-by-case investigation.

Registrar-General Brian Clarke said that the rules are in place to prevent offensive names such as Satan or Adolph Hitler, both of which were proposed in the past and rejected.

July 9 is the deadline for a decision. If 4real isn't accepted the baby's name will be Real.
