A New Jersey accountant is operating out of bars during tax season rather than out of his office. Carmine Sodora, the founder of Tavern Tax, says the bar environment is more personal and comfortable and that his business is sure to grow because of the change of scene.
"People think accountants are supposed to be 60-year-old gentlemen in pinstriped suits that sit in a big office behind oak desks telling you what to do," Sodora said, according to the New York Times.
Sodora had 25 clients he met with in bars last year, and they seem to respond well to the more-relaxed atmosphere.
One of them, Hank Swormstedt, 25, said, "This is better than going to a place like H and R Block. This is more personal, more comfortable. It just makes sense. Have a beer, get your taxes done."
