North Korea is singing the praises of female revolutionaries on International Women's Day.

The official KCNA news agency says Wednesday that many people are singing songs such as "Song of coast artillery women" and "A girl innovator dashing like a steed."

Reuters reports some of the melodies are about family values. They include, "Love your wives" and "My mom who worries herself about her child."

KCNA says, "A lot of songs have been composed in the country in reflection of the pride and happy life of the women who are playing a great role in all fields of social life."
