A three-year-old dachshund and a stray kitten have formed such a strong relationship some may wonder if they really belong to two different species. Lillie, the dog, not only hangs out and naps with Tahoe, the kitten, she also feeds him several times a day as if he was her own pup. The unusual relationship started at the home of Eunice Collins who found Tahoe few weeks ago hiding in the hood of her Chevrolet Tahoe; hence the name. Tahoe was so small that Collins thought it appropriate to keep in him in her bedroom so that he is not hurt by any of her other pets; two dogs and four cats.

Tahoe, the kitten who was found under the hood of Eunice Collins' running Chevrolet Tahoe a few weeks ago, is being fed all day by Lillie.

A farm dog in eastern China has been nursing three newborn tiger triplets along with her own pups after the tigers' mother rejected them shortly after they were born. The dog, a mixed breed named Huani, has nursed other tigers in the past. Officials at Jinan Paomaling Wild Animal World in Shandong province said it is not uncommon for zoos to use dogs to nurse tigers who are rejected by their mothers.

Cats and dogs are the worst enemies but a mother cat has proved this notion wrong by nursing a six-day-old abandoned Rottweiler puppy along with her own kittens. Workers at the Meriden Humane Society have named the pup Charlie and he now nurses and plays alongside the black and gray kittens recently born to Satin - the mother cat. A couple of months ago, Charlie's mother was spotted by neighbors near a road after she gave birth to two puppies; one of which was stillborn. It is believed that the presence of a stillborn in the litter makes it difficult for the mother dog to adopt the healthier pup.

In a bid to protect staffers in a Chinese hospital from a group of people who have picked fights with doctors and nurses, the staffers are advised to don helmets. According to China's official Xinhua news agency, the staff members at China's Shanxia Hospital were given helmets after the family of a former patient - who died there a month ago after a traffic accident - hired men to manhandle its staff when hospital officials rejected demands for compensation.
