A Harlem teenager who was throwing eggs from a New York City rooftop as part of a prank died from injuries sustained after falling six stories while trying to jump between the roofs of two buildings.
David Diaz, 19, was found lying in the courtyard between the two buildings bleeding heavily. He died at the hospital.
The high school athlete had his right arm in a sling from a recent football injury and lost his balance as he was trying to climb over a a 3-foot-high ledge on a building's rooftop, according to reports.
Diaz was with several of his friends throwing eggs at people on the street as part of a prank when some of the people below reportedly became angry. However, officials say that no one made their way from the street up to the building's roof. The teen's death is under investigation.
