A New York animal shelter is asking veterinarians to open their hearts and their pocketbooks to help two deformed puppies.

The two-week-old puppies, named Magic and Merlin, were born with cleft palates, which prevent them from sucking and feeding themselves.

Little Shelter Animal Adoption Center adopted the puppies when a New York animal shelter planned on euthanizing them. But now the shelter is facing "astronomical costs" for putting a feeding tube down their throats every three hours.

Now the shelter is asking for the help of any veterinarian willing to operate on the puppies for free so they can feed themselves.
