A French man was fined $253,920 for defacing his 18th century home with junk and paint for the sake of art. Thierry Ehrmann has spent about $3. 2 million to turn his home in a suburb of Lyon, France into a work of art called "The Abode of Chaos. " The businessman, who made his fortune from Internet art data, has been working on the project since 1999.

A Louisiana man is trying to lessen the pain of high oil prices by drilling a well next to his home. Steve Jordan, 52, says the well will reach a depth of 8,500 feet under his house and swimming pool. Supposedly, it will stretch well below the adjacent Calcasieu River.

In a bid to preserve the species of the red haired, long armed apes, zookeepers in the Netherlands are planning Internet dates for orangutans. Zookeepers in Netherlands say the plan to hook up Dutch and Indonesian orangutans will test the compatibility between the two.

A man visiting his friend's apartment decides to throw five kittens into a frying pan with hot oil. The six- to seven-week-old kittens suffered from slightly burned skin. They are expected to make a full recovery. The apartment's resident left the kitchen, where he was cooking pork chops, when the kittens were thrown in the pan.

Man is vain in nature. At least that is what scientists in Dublin, Ireland have found after examining prehistoric bodies found in the peat bogs of Ireland. The Times says at least two prehistoric bodies, which were estimated to be 2,300 years old, showed evidence of male grooming.
