It was a mistake that could very well have taken the life of a 1-year-old Texas girl when her grandmother accidently gave her orange juice mixed with gin.

Unable to find juice in the refrigerator Monday morning while preparing breakfast for the girl, her grandmother poured some from an individually sized bottle of orange juice. However, when the baby started acting a bit different, she called her 30-year-old son, who told her that the juice was mixed with alcohol.

With the blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal driving limit for adults, the little girl was rushed to the Fort Worth hospital in Texas.

AP quotes Police Lt. Dean Sullivan as saying that it appears to have been a "terrible mistake that could have had potentially devastating and tragic results."
