A diamond, the Lesotho Promise, has been sold for $12. 4 million. The uncut 603-carat white gem weighing 4. 2 oz. was found in Lesotho on August 22. It is described as being "about the size of a golf ball. "The diamond is said to be the 15th largest ever discovered. Experts say it will be cut into one large stone and then several smaller stones.

Weighing in at 1,502 pounds, a pumpkin owned by a Rhode Island farmer may set a new world record for the biggest pumpkin in the world. The pumpkin, weighed Saturday at the 13th annual Rhode Island Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Growers Championship, exceeded the weight of last year's record-breaking pumpkin by slightly over 30 pounds. Ron Wallace, the man who grew the pumpkin, tells the AP, "Pumpkin growing is a lot of work and you just have to stick with it. "

The world's biggest diamond in 13 years went on sale on Wednesday in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The successful bidder, for the gem that was mined in Lesotho, shall be named by the Antwerp Diamond Centre on Monday. Dubbed "Lesotho Promise," the owners found it hard to give the monetary value of the piece. To get the price of a diamond rock, traders need to know how many cuts can be made out of it. The 605-carat diamond is about a third bigger than the size of a golf ball.

" They can also get coffee in a cup that has a pouch for chocolate.

More than 650,000 fake Gucci and Louis Vuitton bags were confiscated and a few illegal immigrants face deportation after an Italian police raid. Police said Monday that the bags were made in a counterfeiting factory owned by Chinese businessmen and also doubled as living space for illegal immigrants.
