At least 300 live venomous scorpions and spiders were seized by Philippine customs officials when a package from Hong Kong marked "personal clothing" was inspected Tuesday, a report said.
The scorpions and spiders, which include deadly tarantulas, were packed in nets, bottles and transparent plastic boxes, which were concealed under clothes, report said.
The package arrived from Hong Kong on Monday, but it was not immediately known who sent it. Customs officials speculated they could have been intended for a collector of the creatures.
The poisonous spiders and scorpions were handed over to the parks and wildlife office for proper disposal.
