An eight-year-old girl from Indiana has survived surgery to seal off internal ruptures caused by 30 magnets and steel balls from a toy she had eaten. Haley Lents was interviewed on the Early Show on Monday and told the TV show's co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez that she ate the magnets and steel balls because they looked like candies, according to CBS News.

A 26-year-old man is facing a possible six-month jail term or $2,000 fine after being convicted of animal cruelty in Vancouver on Friday. B. C. Supreme Court Justice Frank Cole reversed an earlier provincial court ruling that said John Ronald Hughes was not guilty, The judge ruled that the evidence was strong that the accused knew his actions would cause unnecessary pain and suffering to the cat and had previously said he hated cats and talked about what it would be like to put a cat in a microwave.

Burglar Found Stuck In Vent Over Restaurant Grill

Police in Jacksonville, Florida were called when a restaurant worker spotted a burglar who was trapped in an air vent while apparently trying to climb down. The suspect was found with his leg dangling from a slot directly above the restaurant's grill, which was smothered with hot oil. Upon seeing the hanging limb, Mandarin restaurant manager Richard Angers alerted the owner, Rana Escamilla, who called the authorities.

A 50-year-old Vietnamese man, who had a buillet lodged lungs for almost three decades,had the bullet successfully removed Monday. Vu Van Thanh, was presented the bullet by his doctors at the Thanh Hoa hospital after the bullet was removed from him about two weeks ago.

A woman attended an NFL game Sunday, taking with her the ashes of her husband who was an incredibly avid fan of the home team. Kathy Desrosiers, 60, of New Hampshire flew to Pittsburgh to attend a Steelers game, the team that her husband had followed ever since a young age, despite being a New Hampsire resident. Desrosiers showed up at the game decked out in the team colors, and carrying with her the urn that held the remains of Richard Desrosiers.
