A retired Brazilian man claims that he runs 19 miles a day - which for some does not sound like such an amazing feat - although he adds, that he does so backwards. Ary Brasil, 68, says he began running when he was 16 years old but only started running backwards about five years ago.

A woman is facing a huge fine after making false accusations against her doctor. Judge Katherine Stolz says Perla Saldivar lied when she told police her doctor molested her, and had his identical twin impersonate him to assault her. Now Saldivar must pay $2. 8 million to gynecologist Dr. Charles Momah, and his twin.

An Ohio man who was charged with double murder was put to death by the state's regular method of execution that involves injecting lethal chemicals intravenously. But according to officials, the condemned man sat up shortly after the poisons were supposed to have been pumping into his body, telling his executioners, "It's not working. "

A woman who was spanked during a camaraderie-building exercise at work is awarded $1. 7 million on Friday. The Associated Press reports a jury found that Janet Orlando, 53, was sexually harassed and a victim of sexual battery when she was paddled in front of her colleagues at Alarm One Inc.

Sri Lanka's celebrity elephant, Raja, has fallen ill after eating too many sweets and chocolates given to him as gifts in part of the Buddhist new year celebrations. Thousands of Sri Lankans have paid a visit to Raja, 45, ahead of the new year celebration on Thursday, offering homemade cookies deep fried in coconut oil, chocolates, rice cooked in thick milk and fermented slices of sweet pineapple.
