Citizens of Barkingside, Essex in England are criticizing a parking officer for issuing a ticket on a car which had been involved in a major car accident.

The officer first slapped $190 fine against a Volkswagen Golf car within hours of the accident. However, the car, which stayed at the scene of the incident because it was no longer serviceable, was fined the next day by the same parking warden.

A passerby James Pennant told the Mirror, "I was flabbergasted. The VW was clearly undriveable and the car it hit was on the other side of the road.

"It was obviously the scene of an accident. Someone could have been killed or badly injured - but that didn't stop him writing out a ticket. I told the warden what he was doing was atrocious but he just told me to go away."

According to reports, fortunately, no one was reported injured in the accident.

A spokesman for parking firm APCO has already issued an apology for the incident and says the tickets would be canceled.

The spokesman told the newspaper, "When the attendant arrives for his next shift he will be asked why on earth he did what he did."
