At least 22 passengers and one driver miraculously escaped certain death after the air-conditioned bus they were riding suddenly burst into flames Sunday morning while traveling along a national highway in Manila, Philippines.

Reports said the all the 22 passengers managed to escape the burning bus, while hot flames already engulfed at least half of the vehicle.

Authorities said the passengers noticed something was wrong when the air-conditioning unit of the bus suddenly shut down in front of a school.

One of them smelled something was burning and then flames started to engulf the bus.

The driver advised the passengers to evacuate the bus.

Fire authorities immediately arrived at the scene and doused water on the burning vehicle.
