Pennsylvania's Washington County police have charged an 11-year-old boy with 27 traffic violations, endangering another person's life, resisting arrest and fleeing an officer after he was caught in a high-speed chase on Sunday.
The boy, who was not named, was also detained at the Washington County Juvenile Probation Office.
The boy's foster parents alerted police in North Strabane Township when the boy stole their station wagon shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday. When police spotted him on Route 917 in Bentleyville at 9:15 p.m., he drove away and a hot pursuit ensued along Route 519.
The boy, who drove at speeds of up to 85 mph, hit a trooper's cruiser in Somerset Township but continued driving.
A chasing police car hit the rear of the boy's car causing it to spin out of control and crash into a utility pole, thus ending the car chase. The boy was not injured and was promptly arrested.
