A Briton, a Canadian and a New Zealander have made history by becoming the first three people to skydive above Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain. A plane taking off from Shyangboche airport brought Neil Jone, Holly Budge and Wendy Smith to 29,500 feet, 2,500 feet above the 27,000-foot Everest. From there, they jumped in their thermal suit, oxygen tank and extra-thick parachutes landing back at the airport 12,350 feet below.

Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich is awaiting the delivery of a yacht he bought for $354 million- reportedly the world's largest private yacht capable of fending off pirates. The 500-foot Eclipse, about two-thirds the size of the German World War II battleship Bismarck, is equipped with a missile detector and radar equipment, and has bullet-proof windows and armor plating to protect the 41 year old Abramovich from pirates.

Space tourism firm Virgin Atlantic has tossed a $1 million proposal of an unidentified group to shoot a sex video during the inaugural flight of its sub-orbital craft next year or in early 2010. Virgin Galactic president Will Whitehorn revealed the offer his company rejected during Tuesday's International Astronautical Congress here. Whitehorn said the group, which he did not identify, wanted to videotape a sex scene while passengers of SpaceShipTwo craft are floating in zero gravity

A nursing home nurse is thought to have killed at least six patients in 2006 by administering fatal drug cocktails. Marty Himebaugh reportedly made comments to co-workers that aroused suspicion. According to CBS news, Himebaugh allegedly told one colleague about a 56-year-old Down syndrome man that "These people aren't meant to live that long. They are meant to die in their teens. And I'm going to help him along. "

A group of some 15,00 people from the town of Ravensburg in Germany are claiming their place in the Guinness Book of World Records, after assembling what they described as the world's biggest jigsaw puzzle. The effort was organized by Europe's biggest puzzle maker Ravensburg AG, which put together 1,141,800 pieces of jigsaw in five hours on Monday to form a nearly 6,500-square foot puzzle.
