Beer Helps Bring Couples Together In Wife-Carrying Contest

An Olympics more to some men's tastes is brewing this weekend in this small Finnish town. The winner receives his wife's weight in beer. More than 50 couples from countries around Europe are registered for Saturday's 16th annual Wife Carrying World Championships. The rules are simple, even if the contest isn't necessarily easy. The wife-even a borrowed one- is carried by the man-piggyback, on his shoulders, or however he can manage-around a quarter-kilometer (. 15 miles) course made up of sand, asphalt and grass over logs and through three feet of water.

Three Hackers Steal $2 Million Using ATM PINs Swiped Off The Web

Three people are in U. S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on charges they stole ATM PIN numbers enabling them to grab at least $2 million from Citibank checking and savings accounts. Although the extent of the breach is unknown, the alleged crooks pilfered the PINs between October 2007 and March when bank customers used ATMS inside an unknown number of 7-Eleven stores. Around 5,700 Citibank ATMs are located in U. S. 7-Elevens. However, the bank neither owns or operates the automatic tellers.

French Daredevil Climbs Manhattan Skyscraper, Brooklyn Man Copies Stunt

Two men scaled the 52-story New York Times building in Manhattan Thursday in separate stunts that drew amused and tensed onlookers on the streets plus police and rescuers. Alain Robert, a 45-year-old skyscraper climber nicknamed the French Spiderman, first scaled the tower by holding and stepping on slats that cover the building's façade. When he reached the top, he made a personal statement to mark the World Environment Day by unfurling a banner with the words "Global warming kills more people than a 9/11 every week. "

Well, it was fun while it lasted for ambitious hunters hoping to fly to an exotic location, nab that monster buck, and fly back home with their trophy antlers. One might think the cost would be only the price of the ticket, as well as the need to tell your hunting story to a few curious onlookers. The truth is, the antlers need a ticket almost as pricy as the riders themselves - $75 dollar per ride - and once June 10th rolls around, that price is going up to $100 on Frontier Airlines. This is a special rule, applicable only to antlers. . . because, let's face it, everyone was tired of antlers riding for free.

Employers Say Cursing Worst Office Crime, Workers Point To Stealing Food From Office Refrigerator

A survey of 2,520 executive made by a New York-based online job search website said office cursing topped the reasons why bosses fire employees. According to TheLadders. com, 38 percent of the respondents to the online survey pointed to violation of office etiquette, primarily using cuss words, as their number one reason for terminating workers.
