An 18-year-old Petaluma man was severely injured by shrapnel from a pipe-bomb that exploded in a porta-potty near a baseball field on the Fourth of July.
The victim lost a great deal of blood from the wound in his back.
According to reports, the bomb exploded at about 10:30 p.m. inside a portable toilet as he was walking past. Shrapnel from the bomb blew through the porta-potty's walls and some of it struck the man in his back.
Police are investigating the incident. The man is reportedly in stable condition and recovering..
