Gator Found Amid New Jersey Flooding

Piscataway police discover a three foot alligator as they make the rounds to help people from their homes in flooded portions of the town which has seen over a foot of rain in the last ten-days. "It's not normal to find an alligator around here," Lt. George Maurer tells the Associated Press. "I know we've had a lot of rain but come on!. "

Honda Unveils Dog-Friendly Vehicle Model

The latest venture by Honda Motor Co. involves a dog-friendly car design. The W. O. W. Concept, which stands for "wonderful openhearted wagon," is an exhibition model with no plans for commercial sale. The model will be exhibited at the Tokyo auto show later this month. A special crate for dogs in the glove compartment allows owners to interact with their pets while driving. A bigger crate pops up from the floor in the back seat area and can be folded back into the floor when it's not needed. Even bigger dogs can be buckled up with a special seat belt from the floor.

A man is convicted of animal cruelty after officials say he cut off his pet pit bull's ears with a razor to make him look tougher. Smokey, a tan and white male pit bull, was handed over to city animal care workers after his owner sliced off his ears in a bathtub on August 1.

78-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Cat Poisoning

A 78-year-old woman is arrested after lacing a can of cat food with rat poison to ensure her neighbor's cats stayed away from her backyard. Myrtle Maly has been charged with two felony counts of animal mistreatment after admitting to officers to placing D-Con rodent killer in a can of "Special Kitty Salmon Dinner" cat food. The woman set the trap for her neighbor's cats, Tangerine and Tiger, after the two snuck into her backyard and attacked some birds.
