A 2,000-pound live bull and a rodeo competitor will be on the trading floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange on Friday to ring the opening bell in a symbolic stunt to make the U. S. securities market bullish. The bull from the World's Toughest Cowboy Rodeo named TC will be brought to the trading floor via the freight elevator. Local Toughest Cowboy competitor Clovis Crane of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, will ring the opening bell with TC by his side.

Philadelphia police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old boy from Nicetown, PA who held a beagle for ransom and attempted to extort money from its owner. The minor suspect, whose name was withheld by authorities, was taken into custody in the early morning of Dec. 30. He was turned over to the custody of his parents while awaiting trial set on Jan. 31.

A 51-year-old transit officer Steven Rocher helped a woman by delivering her baby before dawn on Christmas day. Rocher, a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority police sergeant, was driving Tuesday through North Philadelphia when he heard a screaming woman.

A dentist is facing lawsuit from a former patient who claims she suffered injuries when he started dancing during a tooth extraction. Brandy Fanning, 31, alleges the dentist, Dr. George Trusty based at Syracuse Community Health Center, started dancing to Rose Royce's song Car Wash playing on the radio while drilling Fanning's tooth.
