A Pennsylvania couple is suing a veterinarian who allegedly faked a euthanization of their dog before giving the canine to another person. The Associated Press reports Dana and Gary Gayner watched what they thought was the death of their 2-year-old German shepherd Annie. The dog had been suffering from frequent seizures.

A seemingly irrational man, scorned by the local permit process hired a crane to uproot half a dozen newsstands that were not his and move them to different street corners. AP reports, that the man chose to relocate the stands to corners where he had requested, but had been denied permits to do business.

Philadelphia plumbers are protesting the installation of waterless urinals in a new high-rise building. Reuters reports that Plumbers Union Local 690 is afraid the "green toilets" will take away from their work because they do not have water lines.

Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock is still in the business of shocking people. The director who ate nothing but McDonald's meals for his Oscar-nominated film, "Super Size Me," gave a profanity-laced, politically incorrect speech at a suburban Philadelphia high school. His lecture was part of Hatboro-Horsham High School's first-ever health fair. During his speech, Spurlock joked about the intelligence of McDonald's employees, about "retarded kids in the back wearing helmets" and teachers smoking pot in the balcony.
