Teenage Girl Opens Guest House For Pets

A 13-year-old girl has decided to open a guesthouse exclusively for pets. According to reports reaching BBC, Lupe van der Stigchel, has opened the Mini Pet B and B which aims to provide accommodation for rabbits, guinea pigs and gerbils at her home in north Cornwall.

Green Bay, WI (AHN)- Green Bay Police Lt. Todd LePine said a pig withstood taser shots from police officers and eluded authorities for more than an hour after wandering onto Green Bay's major highway. The 150-pound pig was reportedly spotted by a passing driver on U. S. 41 at 6 p. m. Wednesday night, and went into traffic several times, creating a hazard. LePine said officers located the pig about 7 p. m. and made two attempts to subdue it with a stun gun, but it fled both times after pulling out the Taser probes.

Local authorities in Quezon City, Philippines are encouraging more hog raisers to collect scrap foods from households to feed their pigs after a successful pilot-testing of such programs in nine barangays (villages) in the city. Under the program implemented eight months ago, hog raisers conducted door-to-door collection of leftovers and kitchen waste in the community. The aim of the program is to reduce the amount of garbage generated by households and at the same time lessen the expenses of hog raisers by feeding the collected scrap foods to their pigs.

Hundreds of Russians gathered for the first day of the annual ''Pig Olympics. " The crowd cheered a field of 12 piglets who competed in three events: pig-racing, pig-ball and pig-swimming. Organizers of the event and the vice-president of the Sport-Pig Federation, which claims around 100 members, Alexei Sharshkov, said the Pig Olympics were organized to deliver a different kind of entertainment to people.
