White Mouse Keeps Vietnamese Plane Grounded For Four Hours

April 9, 2007
A Japan-bound Vietnam Airlines plane was forced to remain grounded for nearly four hours after a passenger spotted a white mouse on the plane. The aviation authorities suspect the mouse might have hitched a ride aboard the plane in the hand luggage or pocket of one of the passengers and eventually escaped. The Boeing 777 from the central city of Da Nang landed at the Hanoi-based Noi Bai International Airport late Saturday and was scheduled to fly to Japan but the flight was delayed after a passenger aboard the plane reported the airplane crew of the mouse.

Elusive Dog Caught After 11 Days At Airport

February 12, 2007
Authorities at Madrid International Airport, one of Europe's busiest air hubs, were trying their best to nab an elusive dog for the past eleven days, finally succeeding on Sunday by calling a team of animal rights activists. Snowy the terrier became lost at the airport on Jan. 31 after arriving on an Iberia cargo plane from Britain. His owners were traveling on a separate plane to vacation in Spain. According to Jaime Perez Guerra, a spokesman for Iberia airlines, the brown-and-white pooch spent 11 days in a sensitive outdoor area of the airport where planes fly over at very low altitude. That made it a tough job for the security people to capture him who were concerned about Snowy running onto a runway.

Britain's First Mile-High Club To Open This Year

February 7, 2007
A British company will be opening a mile-high club later this year that will give couples willing to shell out hundreds of dollars the chance to fly 5,580 feet in the air on a private "love jet. " With the service, couples who have always wanted to be a part of the mile-high club can do so without the fear of facing the large fines (and embarrassment) they'd have to deal with if they attempted to join the club on a commercial flight. Couples, who are promised discretion, will have a choice of three kinds of trips: a 30-minute "Quickie," an hour-long flight, or a "VIP" flight that lasts 90 minutes. Prices range from about $500 to $1,500.
