Next year, the first Malaysian astronaut in space aboard a Russian rocket will try to make the nation's favorite hot drink, teh tarik. "The physics experiment is to see what happens to teh tarik in space," Haniff Omar, head of Malaysia's astronaut selection program, told Reuters.

A 28-year-old environmentalist from Machynllet, Powys in England, is planning on traveling some 9,770 miles by land to be a bridesmaid at a wedding in Australia because she does not want to contribute to air pollution by flying. Barbara Haddrill said the trip would take her six weeks to accomplish at a cost of $3,800.

Vanity is a necessity among flight attendants and they have to look good even while fighting terror. Superintendent Rizalino Roxas, in charge of police and intelligence operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Philippines said Monday all airline crews, particularly flight attendants, were exempted from the "no liquid, no gel" ban being enforced at the airport on all U. S. -bound passengers and U. S. carriers.

A door falls off a Brazilian jet, and crashes next to a supermarket shortly after departure from Sao Paulo. The TAM airplane was able to land safely, despite the gaping hole. None of the 79 passengers on the Fokker 100 plane were injured.

Mary Armstrong celebrated her 90th birthday by skydiving 12,000 feet to the earth. It is her third charity jump, raising $1,900 for an animal charity. The proceeds of the jump will go to a horse, donkey and mule veterinary charity called The Brooke.
