A Cuban man, who claims to be 126 years old, making him the world's oldest person, has died Thursday at a hospital. Benito Martinez claims to have been born in Haiti in 1880 although this was never proven.

Weighing in at 1,502 pounds, a pumpkin owned by a Rhode Island farmer may set a new world record for the biggest pumpkin in the world. The pumpkin, weighed Saturday at the 13th annual Rhode Island Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Growers Championship, exceeded the weight of last year's record-breaking pumpkin by slightly over 30 pounds. Ron Wallace, the man who grew the pumpkin, tells the AP, "Pumpkin growing is a lot of work and you just have to stick with it. "

A woman with a nervous cow will soon be headed to jail after police found the Polish lady growing marijuana. A woman in Lobez was arrested and charged with cultivating a narcotic after Polish police found she had been growing the drug to calm her "skittish and unruly" cow.

Steve Weinkseldaum was arrested on Tuesday as agents from the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were led to his home on a tip that he was boarding wild animals. According to an AP report, agent Roy Gross said, "It appeared to be like I was walking into a rain forest" in his home, because "he had alligators stacked up. He had plants growing. It was tight to walk. "

Italian police arrest two brothers for allegedly growing marijuana in a major public park in Palermo, Sicily. Twenty pot plants about six and a half feet high were found in the Parco della Favorita. Police caught the 25 and 30-year-old men as they were carrying watering cans to the plants, which were hidden by other greenery.
