As National Sandwich Month begins a study reveals the most popular sandwich amongst Americans. According to the study the "Monte Cristo" sandwich, composed of ham, chicken, and Swiss cheese is the favorite sandwich choice. A Texas A&M University study also reveals that Americans eat more than 45 million sandwiches annually with an average U. S. citizen consuming about 200 sandwiches a year. The study also estimates that an average child will eat around 1,500 peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches before graduating from high school.

A smoking ban in gambling clubs in New Zealand has reduced the number of gamblers as the country's poker machine revenue fell 28%. Brian Smith, president of Clubs New Zealand, said that this ban would reduce about $60 million a year from pub charities to various sports and other community groups.

As part of InterPoker. com's Extreme Poker series novice players and one professional battled it out 15,000-ft. off the ground. Losers of the game would have to parachute themselves out of an airplane. The players are the winners of Extreme Poker's online tournaments to play Texas Hold 'em in weird settings. The first of the series was played underwater and the second was played on a polar ice cap in Finland.
